Which images are reduced
The tool optimises ordinary JPEGs inside a PDF. Images with masks, EXIF, ICC profiles or unsupported settings, and other formats, remain unchanged. Each run processes up to 30 JPEGs, with up to 12 megapixels and 10 MB per image and 60 megapixels in total.
Why the file size may stay the same
A PDF may have no suitable JPEGs, or its images may already be well compressed. If the processed PDF is not smaller, the original file is offered for download. Text, page dimensions, margins and rotation are retained.
